Tonight, Pop TV kicks off two new comedy series starring former celebrities playing exaggerated versions of themselves trying to reinvigorate their careers. First up is the improvised comedy, Hollywood Darlings, which follows real-life friends/former ’90s child stars Jodie Sweetin (Full House, Fuller House), Christine Lakin (Step By Step), and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) as they juggle reviving their careers with being busy wives and moms. Pop TV aired a “preview” episode of the series last week. Then, the scripted comedy Return of the Mac follows the misadventures of New Kids on the Block member Joey McIntyre and his real-life family – wife Barrett and their three children, Griffin (8), Rhys (6), and Kira (5) – as he struggles to be taken as a serious actor. However, this plan is derailed when he ends up taking a role as a talk-show host for the fledgling Comfy Channel cable network.
