If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/25/16

Tonight BBC America brings the BAFTA award winning drama Prey to the US. The series has already run for two seasons in the UK. Each 3-episode season follows a different case being investigated by Detective Sergeant Susan Reinhardt (Rosie Cavaliero, A Young Doctor’s Notebook) of the Manchester Metropolitan Police Department, and both of these cases revolve around possible corruption within the force. In the first case, which kicks off tonight, well-liked Detective Constable Marcus Farrow (John Simm, Life on Mars) finds his wife and son murdered and all evidence points towards him. Marcus escapes custody and goes on the run trying to clear his name, resorting to extreme measures and criminal behavior in order to do so. If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/24/16

Last week on Suits, the event that we've been building to over the last four and a half seasons finally kicked off—Mike's trial for impersonating a lawyer. Harvey and Jessica had convinced Mike to do a practice mock trial in front of the firm, and the proceedings led to some intense moments between Harvey and Mike. However, the mock trial was interrupted by Anita Gibbs, who showed up to announce that she had got the trail date moved up. Meanwhile, Harvey's plan to ship Sheila out of the country so she couldn't testify backfired, and Gibbs threatened to go after him for witness tampering if Sheila didn't return from Argentina. At the trial, Gibbs put Donna on the stand, and she was forced to plead the fifth so as to not incriminate herself, which didn't look good for Mike. Harvey was able to score some points by convincing Mike's former client Jimmy to testify that Mike went to Harvard with him (which was a total lie). Gibbs tried to convince the jury that Jimmy was perjuring himself, but did she do enough?...

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/23/16

On last week's episode of The Grinder, Dean was waking up with nightmares, re-living a scene from his TV show in which his character climbed his way out of his own grave. Dean's therapist Jillian (guest star Maya Rudolph) suggested that it was time for him to move on from his character and give up everything Grinder. Dean decided he would stop being so dramatic all the time, but then proceeded to host the most dramatic ceremony ever to burn all of his Grinder keepsakes. The person who seemed to take all of this the hardest was superfan Todd. Meanwhile, Stewart was getting frustrated with his father's lax attitude toward the malpractice case that had been filed against him, and wanted to take control of the defense, but his father wouldn't let him...

If We Controlled Your Remote… 2/22/16

Tonight, the first season of NBC’s workplace comedy Superstore comes to a close. Last week, Jonah was horrified to discover that Dina had stepped down as assistant manager in order to pursue a relationship with him. Dana was paired up with Cheyenne in cosmetics, and it was quickly evident that she wasn’t suited for that department. Jonah hated being the bad guy – he just couldn’t tell Dina that he didn’t share her feelings and got some bad advice from Garrett on how to break the news. Meanwhile, Glenn started his internal search for Dina’s replacement and had his eyes on Amy, but it was more work and she already had school to deal with, so she didn’t want the job. Mateo really wanted the position, but he, too, unfortunately asked Garrett for help, which led to him preparing an elaborate pitch that involved singing and dancing. After interviewing all of the other horrible candidates, Amy ultimately accepted the position and was delighted to learn that it came with tuition reimbursement. And things also looked good for Dina, who had already moved on to another young guy...
