If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/19/16
Tonight the CW kicks off the new 13-episode limited series Containment. After a deadly epidemic breaks out in an urban part of Atlanta, the residents in the area are quarantined in order to try to contain the outbreak while the CDC looks for a cure. The series follows the lives of those both inside the quarantine zone, who are struggling to stay alive, as well as those outside who have been separated by their loved ones. Police officer Lex Carnahan (David Gyasi, Interstellar) learns that his girlfriend Jana (Christina Marie Moses, Starship: Apocalypse) and best friend Officer Jake Riley (Chris Wood, The Vampire Diaries) are trapped inside, along with 17-year-old Teresa (Hanna Mangan Lawrence, Spartacus: War of the Damned) who is 8-months pregnant and separated from her boyfriend Xander (Demetrius Bridges); elementary school teacher Katie Frank (Kristen Gutoskie, Beaver Falls) and her entire class, including her own son; and CDC researcher Dr. Victor Cannerts (George Young, Casualty), who played a major role in the quarantine effort. The series also stars Claudia Black (The Originals, Farscape) as Dr. Sabine Lommers and Trevor St. John (One Life to Live) as Leo Greene…

If We Controlled Your Remote… 4/18/16
Last year, Syfy’s new time-bending sci-fi drama 12 Monkeys was a pleasant surprise and ended up being one of my favorite shows of the year. Tonight the series returns for its second season. The show centers around James Cole, who was sent back from 2043 to 2015 in order to prevent a virus from being spread that would wipe out the world. When we last left off, Cole had confronted his former best friend Ramse, who had traveled back decades earlier and was just waiting out his time until 2015 so he could use the splinter machine when it was first created, to save his son. However, Cole and Cassie caught up with him, and Cassie pulled a gun and shot Ramse, but she was also shot in the crossfire. With both of them bleeding out, Ramse gave Cassie his needle of time-travel serum and told her to inject herself and go to the future, where Jones would save her. However, in 2043, Jones was having her own issues – Deacon had joined forces with the group of 12 to storm the facility and seize control of the machine. However, they were shocked to see Cassie arrive. And back in 2015, new Markridge CEO Jennifer Goines was seen setting out for a 12-city trip around the globe and was loading 12 mysterious boxes onto her plane…
