Tonight FOX kicks off its own Survivor-like reality competition series, Kicking & Screaming, hosted by Hannah Simone (New Girl). Ten die-hard, experienced survivalists think they’re going to be partnered with someone of similar skills to complete for a $500K prize, but they are in for a shock when a boat pulls up containing ten out-of shape novices (both men and women) who have never spent a day of their lives camping or roughing it in the wild. Each survivalist has been paired with someone who is his or her total opposite, and their fates are now intertwined—if their inexperienced partner decides to quit or can’t hack it anymore, both of them are eliminated. So it’s up to these men and women to teach their partners the skills they need to survive until the end, even if they’re kicking and screaming to quit. Each week the teams complete in two challenges. The winners of the first challenge get to choose between a luxury/prize or a game-related power, while the last place team automatically participates in the elimination challenge, where one team will be removed from the competition…

Tonight, Survivor returns for its 500th episode, and 34th season, under the season title of Survivor: Game Changers. This time around the cast consists entirely of returning players, all of whom have made some big moves during their previous appearances. Some people, like Ozzy and Aubry, have been runner ups, Tai has been a 2nd runner up, JT and Tony have each won the game before, and Sandra has already won the game twice! There’s people I could have done without seeing again like Troyzan, Tony, Debbie and Brad Culpepper, and others who are participating in their fourth season—they are turning this into a career! Tonight, FX’s 1980s Cold War spy drama, The Americans, returns for its penultimate season. As the fourth season came to a close, things got really intense. William had arranged a meeting to hand off the vial of the Lassa virus to Philip, but once he realized the Feds were tailing him, he smashed the vial, infecting himself and alerting Philip that he was walking into a trap. The Centre started to fear that William might turn on Philip & Elizabeth while being interrogated in the hospital, so Gabriel left it up to them if they wanted to go back to Russia. In his dying words, William revealed to Stan that there was an undercover spy couple with kids living the American dream. Meanwhile, Paige and Stan’s son Matthew were starting to get close, so Philip told Paige he wanted her to break it off, as it was too dangerous. And finally, in Russia, Philip’s illegitimate son, Mischa, had been released from his detention thanks to some powerful friends. Later, Mischa asked his grandfather for information about the father he never met and decided to search for him in America…
