The BBC announced today during a live world-wide special that Peter Capaldi will take over as the 12th Doctor on Doctor Who! Capaldi is probably best known for his role as Malcolm Tucker on the TV series The Thick of It and feature film In The Loop. A box set of the series arrives in the US this Tuesday.

Capaldi’s make look familiar to Who fans as he guest-starred in “The Fires of Pompeii” and starred in the Torchwood miniseries “Children of Earth”.

He also ironically played a “W.H.O. Doctor” in the recent blockbuster World War Z!
