There are no TV-on-DVD/BD releases that I am anxiously awaiting this week. However, on the DVD side of things, if you haven’t already seen The Colony: Season Two, it is definitely worth checking out. In the second season, 10 new colonists must use their skills to rebuild society after a biological disaster has wiped out everything and everyone. While it is a reality show, it is unlike all those competition reality shows. There are no prizes, and the participants are just in it for the experience. It’s like a reality-show mash-up of Survivors, The Walking Dead and Falling Skies. While I still prefer the first season of the show, this season also proved to be interesting and entertaining. Other TV-on-DVD releases this week worth checking out are the final seasons of United States of Tara and Everwood.

For Blu-ray, fans of Danny McBride (of which I am not) will appreciate this week’s HD releases of the first and second seasons of Eastbound & Down.
