My DVD Pick of the week is Psych: The Complete Fifth Season. Even in its 5th season, Psych continues to be as entertaining as it was when it first started. This season contains the extended Twin Peaks homage episode, “Dual Spires”, and the end of the Yin and Yang trilogy.

As for blu-ray, I had a tough time deciding between Rookie Blue: The Complete First Season and True Blood: The Complete Third Season. Both shows will be returning in June, so it is a great opportunity to catch up, especially since they are short seasons (13 and 12 episodes respectively). Rookie Blue offers a lighter cop drama (in a similar vein to the early Grey’s Anatomy years) and True Blood offers a campy, bloody and much more adult Vampire/Werewolf romp. While I don’t think True Blood has been able to recapture the magic of the first season, this third season did have its moments and the show continues to be entertaining overall. Either of these blu-rays would be a great pick-up.
