This was a tough week to make a pick as there are three of the releases I’m interested in. (Although I was disappointed to see that none of them are getting HD releases.)

This week, I’m recommending Flashpoint: Third Season. From the first summer this Canadian import aired on CBS, I was hooked. The series, which is a great blend of action and drama, follows the SRU (Strategic Response Unit) as they are called in to handle situations such as talking down killers and hostage-takers or diffusing bombs. In addition to keeping us on the edge of our seats for the case of the week, the series does a great job of making us care for the characters by exploring their backstories and relationships outside of the job.

If Flashpoint‘s not your thing, then I’d recommend checking out either of the two USA Network shows also being released this week: Covert Affairs: Season One or Royal Pains: Season Two.
