Tonight, the first season of Pitch comes to a close. Last week, it looked like Mike was going to be traded to the Cubs. Mike wasn’t going to participate in his final game as a Padre for fear that he would get injured, but Ginny got the crowd cheering, so Mike stepped up to the plate to bat…only to make the game-ending strike out. Mike was dejected, but the crowd still cheered for him in appreciation of all of his years with the team. Meanwhile, Amelia grew concerned when she learned that Ginny had given her brother Will money to help with his sports bar venture; and soon after, Will’s business partner Evelyn also started to have her own concerns when she noticed some discrepancies in the restaurant’s budget. That evening Ginny went on a date with Noah, the billionaire CEO of a gaming company, which went really well. She received a text from Mike to meet him at a bar, so she headed over, thinking it was some sort of good-bye party with the team. However, she was the only other player there, and it ended up being more like a date. Tonight NBC will once again prove that You Can’t Stop The Beat, saying Good Morning Baltimore as it opens the curtains on its latest live musical event, Hairspray Live!. The production is based on the the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical (which itself was based on the cult 1988 John Waters film of the same name). The story is set in 1962 where plump teenager Tracy Turnblad’s (Maddie Baillio) biggest dreams come true when she is selected to join a local Baltimore dance show, “The Clifton Collins Show”, and becomes an instant celebrity. She then sets out on a campaign to integrate the all-white dance show, and over the course of the production we meet a wide variety of crazy characters, including Tracy’s mother Edna (Harvey Fierstein) and father Wilbur (Martin Short), best friend Penny Pingleton (Ariana Grande) and her mother Prudy (Andrea Martin), African American classmate Seaweed J. Last week, Jessica was in heaven when she discovered Costco, and her weekly trips there with bargain-shopping partner Evan were like a religious experience. However, when Evan’s friend invited him to join his family at church one Sunday, this quickly became his new Sunday tradition, and Jessica was left to make her spiritual trips alone.
