If We Controlled Your Remote… 5/15/17
Last week’s episode of Better Call Saul focused on the Jimmy’s hearing, but before we saw the brothers go head to head in the court room, we got a flashback to a happier time for the siblings. In the scene, we saw Chuck trying to hide his illness during a dinner with his ex-wife and Jimmy assisting his brother in this ruse. But in the present-day courtroom, those times were long gone and Chuck was going for the jugular, hoping to get his brother’s law license revoked. However, Jimmy wasn’t going to go down without a fight. He invited Chuck’s ex-wife to the courtroom to throw him off by forcing him to talk about his illness in front of her. Jimmy also had another trick up his sleeve… He had arranged for someone to secretly plant a battery on Chuck in order to prove that his allergy to electronics was psychosomatic. When Jimmy revealed that the battery had been in Chuck’s jacket the entire time, Chuck lost it and started yelling at the court like a mad man, giving Jimmy exactly the reaction he had hoped for…

HBO’s Silicon Valley is off to a great start this season. Dinesh took over as CEO of Pied Piper, but soon afterwards he discovered that his Piper Chat app had a large underage userbase, making him potentially liable for billions of dollars worth of legal infractions. Fortunately, he was able to offload the app to an unsuspecting Gavin Belson, but when Hooli discovered this legal nightmare, they immediately fired him. Meanwhile, Richard gained access to Peter Gregory’s old research about creating a new internet, only to discover that Gavin Belson held a key patent that he would need to move forward. Meanwhile, Monica tried to con a fellow Raviga employee into financing Elrich’s latest “See Food” scam with Jian-Yang, but her plan to get ahead in the company ended up backfiring when she was put in charge of the account. And Big Head enrolled in college, but when he showed up to his first class, he realized there had been some kind of miscommunication and he was supposed to be lecturing to the class, not attending it…
