“Flowers” from ‘White Lotus’ Star Will Sharpe and Starring Oscar Winner Olivia Colman Also Set to Join the Platform This Month

September 25, 2023 – Autumn is upon us and BritBox, the world leader in British streaming, is continuing to bring the best of British telly to fans with a robust slate of original, exclusive, and returning programming for all to enjoy. Headlining the month’s platform debuts are BritBox Original titles Payback , a six-part crime thriller debuting 10/19, from the team behind Line of Duty and starring Morven Christie (Grantchester, The Bay) and Peter Mullan (Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, Mum), and true crime The Sixth Commandment featuring Timothy Spall (Mr. Turner, Hatton Garden Heist), debuting on October 4.

Additionally, the streamer will add must-see titles including The Night Manager, the adaptation of John le Carré’s best-selling spy novel starring Tom Hiddleston (Loki) and Hugh Laurie (Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? ), on October 12 and Flowers S1 & S2, a dark comedy series from White Lotus star Will Sharpe, starring Academy Award winner Olivia Colman about the dysfunctional members of the Flowers family, on October 24.

  • October 12, 2023: The Night Manager | New to BritBox | 6 x 60’ | All at Once
    In this contemporary interpretation of John le Carré’s best-selling spy novel, The Night Manager follows hotel manager Jonathan Pine (Tom Hiddleston, Loki) in his quest to bring down international arms dealer Richard Roper (Hugh Laurie, Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? ). Pine, a former soldier, is thrust into a world of international intrigue when he is recruited by a British intelligence officer (Olivia Colman, The Favourite) to infiltrate Roper’s inner circle. To get to the heart of Roper’s vast empire, Pine must withstand the allure of his beautiful girlfriend Jed (Elizabeth Debicki, The Crown) and the suspicious interrogations of his venal chief of staff Major Corkoran (Tom Hollander, Rev ). In his quest to do the right thing, Pine must first become a criminal himself.

    A twist on Jane Austen’s classic novel sees disillusioned modern working girl Amanda Price ‘swap’ her life for Austen’s celebrated heroine, Elizabeth Bennet. Trapped in the unfolding fiction, Amanda must try her utmost to fit in among the Bennets, Bingleys and Darcys, but her presence in the characters’ lives sets unforeseen complications in motion.

    Starring Morven Christie (The Bay ) and Peter Mullan (Mum ), the six-part crime thriller tells the story of a woman who becomes entangled in a police investigation into a dangerous crime lord. Created by Debbie O’Malley, whose writing credits include Call the Midwife, Humans and Harlots, the drama is produced by Jed Mercurio’s HTM Television, with the Line of Duty showrunner also acting as an executive producer. The six-part crime thriller follows Lexie Noble (Christie), who gets mixed up in a perilous police operation to bring down a notorious crime lord, Cal Morris (Mullan). With an idyllic family lifestyle in the suburbs of Edinburgh, Lexie is unaware her husband, Jared, has been laundering Cal Morris’ illegal earnings on a vast scale. Jared’s every move is being monitored by financial investigators DC Jibran Khan (Prasanna Puwanarajah, Ten Percent) and DCI Adam Guthrie (Derek Riddell, Happy Valley), who are determined to use the Noble family to bring Cal Morris to justice.

    Starring Olivia Colman, this dark, imaginative comedy follows the eccentric and dysfunctional members of the Flowers family.
