“PRAISE PETEY” PREMIERES FRIDAY, JULY 21 AT 10/9c ON FREEFORM


Petey is an NYC “It Girl” with everything figured out, until her well-curated life comes crashing down. As luck would have it, a mysterious gift from her late father gives her a new lease on life – taking over as leader of his small-town cult New Utopia. As Petey leans into her new role, she discovers what it means to be a leader and how to find her voice as she tries to modernize her small-town cult.

“Praise Petey” is from creator, writer and executive producer Anna Drezen (former head writer of “Saturday Night Live”). Bandera Entertainment’s Mike Judge, Greg Daniels and Dustin Davis, along with ShadowMachine’s Alex Bulkley and Corey Campodonico (Guillermo Del Toro’s PINOCCHIO), and Monica Padrick (“Central Park”) serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Disney Television Studios’ 20th Television Animation, with animation by ShadowMachine.

Petey and Eliza team up to get to the bottom of New Utopia’s finances and raise enough money to get medicine for a sick Mae Mae ― without resorting to recruiting new cult members. How hard could it be for an educated city girl to make $30?
 

July 28 (10:30-11:00 p.m. EDT) – Episode #1004 – “Father’s Knee”
Petey discovers that her father used to have his own local magazine, inspiring Petey to revive it and make it her own. She chooses Bandit for her cover story to prove she’s open to dissent.
 

August 4 (10:00-10:30 p.m. EDT) – Episode #1005 – “Barn Wedding”
Petey and Eliza scheme to bring an honest income to New Utopia by renting out barns as wedding venues for the Manhattan elite. When her ex Brian is their first client, Petey scrambles to make it the perfect night – and to make him jealous.
