Outer Range, Starring Oscar-Nominee Josh Brolin, to Premiere in April on Prime Video

First-look images revealed for the cinematic and multifaceted one-hour drama series 

CULVER CITY, California—February 24, 2022—Today, Prime Video announced that the genre-bending drama Outer Range will premiere this April on Prime Video, and revealed official first-look images. The eight-episode Original series will be available exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.

Outer Range centers on Royal Abbott (Josh Brolin), a rancher fighting for his land and family, who discovers an unfathomable mystery at the edge of Wyoming’s wilderness. A thrilling fable with hints of wry humor and supernatural mystery, Outer Range examines how we grapple with the unknown.

At the onset of the series, the Abbotts are coping with the disappearance of daughter-in-law Rebecca. They are pushed further to the brink when the Tillersons (the gaudy owners of the neighboring profit-driven ranch) make a play for their land. An untimely death in the community sets off a chain of tension-filled events, and seemingly small-town, soil-bound troubles come to a head with the arrival of a mysterious black void in the Abbotts’ west pasture. Wild revelations unfold as Royal fights to protect his family; through his eyes, we begin to see how time contains secrets held in the past and unsettling mysteries foreshadowed.

Led by Oscar-nominee Josh Brolin (Milk), Outer Range features an ensemble cast of award-winning and breakout talent, including Imogen Poots (I Know This Much is True), Lili Taylor (Perry Mason), Tamara Podemski (Four Sheets to the Wind), Lewis Pullman (Top Gun: Maverick), Tom Pelphrey (Ozark), Noah Reid (Schitt’s Creek), Shaun Sipos (Krypton), Isabel Arraiza (The Little Things), Olive Abercrombie (The Haunting of Hill House), and Will Patton (Yellowstone). Outer Range comes from creator and executive producer Brian Watkins, with executive producers Zev Borow, Heather Rae, Josh Brolin, Robin Sweet, Tony Krantz, Amy Seimetz, Lawrence Trilling, and Plan B Entertainment for Amazon Studios. Character Descriptions

• Royal Abbott (played by Josh Brolin): Wyoming born and bred, Royal is a kind of last real cowboy. An unsettled settler, he is a man for whom home is everything.
• Autumn (played by Imogen Poots): An itinerant woman who charms the Abbotts enough to let her camp on their land. A seeker of cosmic truths with a checkered past, she lives without regrets and embraces the unknown with reckless abandon.
• Cecilia Abbott (played by Lili Taylor): The matriarch of the Abbott family. Warm, salt-of-the-earth, and fiercely loyal, she is a woman of deep faith, which is tested as never before.
• Deputy Sheriff Joy (played by Tamara Podemski): A lifelong cop, Joy is running for county sheriff, and is the first gay Native American to ever do so in Wyoming. She is thrust into an investigation surrounding the Tillerson family—the Abbotts’ bitter rivals.
• Rhett Abbott (played by Lewis Pullman): The Abbott family’s younger, rebellious son. He has never thought much past his ambition to become a championship bull rider—until a shocking event, and a girl just returned to town, push him to reconsider everything he thinks he knows.
• Perry Abbott (played by Tom Pelphrey): The Abbotts’ dutiful eldest son, he’s torn up inside by the lingering mystery of his missing wife Rebecca. An expert rancher, he’s doing his best as a newly single dad to his 9-year-old daughter, Amy.
• Billy Tillerson (played by Noah Reid): The youngest of the three Tillerson brothers, but very different from the rest—and for that matter, anyone else around. Ethereal and unsettling, Billy sings often, his heart pouring over like an inner tide of something he can’t hold back.
• Luke Tillerson (played by Shaun Sipos): Archrival to the neighboring Abbotts, Luke runs the day-to-day business of his family’s sprawling ranching operation. His ruthless competitive streak turns vengeful and toxic when there is a sudden turn of events for his family.
• Maria Olivares (played by Isabel Arraiza): Maria went to high school with Rhett. Now she’s back from college, unexpectedly, and looking for more than just a fresh start. She and Rhett are attracted to each other like moths to a flame.
• Amy Abbott (played by Olive Abercrombie): Amy is the daughter of Perry and Rebecca Abbott, and the beating heart of the Abbott family. A fiercely independent ranch girl, her anxieties begin to mount following her mother’s disappearance.
• Wayne Tillerson (played by Will Patton): Ruthlessly capitalistic, crafty, superstitious, and dangerous, Wayne Tillerson is a man who is used to getting what he wants—and the kind of man you want to keep as far away as possible. He and Royal have known each other for more than 50 years, and there is no love lost between them.
• Trevor Tillerson (played by Matt Lauria): Trevor is the eldest of the three Tillerson brothers, and the temperamental workhorse of his family. He takes out his frustrations on his neighbors, the Abbotts, and his truculent aggression manages to move the simmering feud to a rolling boil whenever he crosses paths with an Abbott.
• Patricia Tillerson (played by Deirdre O’Connell): A silver-tongued and confident woman of the West who embodies the high-end Wyoming lifestyle, Patricia Tillerson is the ex-wife of Wayne Tillerson and mother to Billy, Luke, and Trevor. The love for her boys has always been fierce, yet distant. When tragedy brings her home, her ferocity reaches new heights.
• Deputy Matt (played by Matthew Maher): Matt is a deputy sheriff, an optimistic guy, and a team player. He’s Sheriff Joy Hawk’s right-hand man.
