Tonight, Veep returns to HBO for its sixth season. When we last left off, the state of the presidency was left to a vote by the Senate. Tom James offered Selina the position of vice president should he win the presidency, but she turned this down, saying she would rather be Secretary of State. Selina tried everything to improve public opinion of her, and Jonah even became a Congressman so he could vote for her. However, all of this was moot because the vote came down to a tie, and Vice President Doyle made the tie-breaking vote for Laura Montez, because she promised him the job of Secretary of State. And to add insult to injury, moments after Montez was sworn in, she was given credit for freeing Tibet and was said to be in line for the Nobel peace price, which was the legacy that Selina had been working hard to claim for herself
