Mr. Mercedes is a thrilling new series based on a novel by Stephen King, premiering August 9 on the AT&T/DirecTV-exclusive Audience Network. I have checked out screeners for the first four episodes, and this show is really creepy!
A demented serial killer taunts a retired police detective with a series of lurid letters and emails, forcing the ex-cop to undertake a private, and potentially felonious, crusade to bring the killer to justice before he can strike again. Based on the bestselling novel by Stephen King. Directed by Jack Bender (Lost, Game of Thrones) and adapted for television by David E. Kelley. All three serve as Executive Producers.
In the San Diego Comic-Con press room for the series, we got to speak with cast members Harry Treadaway (“Brady Hartsfield”), Holland Taylor (“Ida Silver”), Kelly Lynch (“Deborah Hartsfield”), Jharrel Jerome (“Jerome Robinson”) & Breeda Wool (“Lou Linklatter”), as well as series creator Jack Bender. There was no press line in this room, so things worked out really well—it was much quieter than most rooms, and we got to speak with everyone. I made the mistake of asking Jack Bender a question regarding future seasons of the series and got a detailed explanation of how the first season comes to an end. Needless to say, that response has been removed from from the video below.
