Interview with YOU’RE KILLING ME Stars Brooke Shields & Amalia Williamson

Jun 02 Posted by in Interviews | Comments

The first season of the delightful cozy mystery series You’re Killing Me is currently airing weekly on Acorn TV, and the series has already been picked up for a second season, which was announced at the panel for the series at this year’s ATX TV Festival.

Set in the quaint New England town of Founder’s Cove, You’re Killing Me follows bestselling novelist Allie (Brooke Shields) who forms an unlikely alliance with aspiring writer and podcaster Andi (Amalia Williamson, Sullivan’s Crossing, Letterkenny, Northern Rescue) to find the killer of a close friend. The series also stars Tom Cavanagh (Ed, Superman & Lois, The Flash) as Jack, the new lead detective of the Founders Cove Police Department and former city slicker who is trying to acclimate to the quirks of small-town life.

Acorn TV brought the series to Season 15 of the ATX TV Festival in Austin, TX, holding a standing-room-only panel for the series. These actresses have amazing chemistry and comedic timing, and the show is so much fun. The series uses the generational gap between these two characters for a lot of the humor. The show has the feeling of Murder She Wrote mixed with some Only Murders in the Building, and a relationship dynamic like that of Deborah and Ava in Hacks. Despite there being a murder each week, the show remains light and fun, with those murders usually happening off-screen. The first season is only 6 episodes, and it just keeps getting better each week.

ATX should eventually post the panel to their YouTube channel, but we got the chance to speak with stars Brooke Shields & Amalia Williamson at a roundtable interview in Austin this past Thursday, and you can check that out now below:
