Hulu announced today that the second season of its Emmy® Award-nominated series Paradise will premiere Monday, February 23rd with three episodes, followed by new episodes weekly on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
The official Season 2 synopsis is as follows:
Xavier searches for Teri out in the world and learns how people survived the three years since The Day. Back in Paradise, the social fabric frays as the bunker deals with the aftermath of Season 1, and new secrets are uncovered about the city’s origins.
Back in July, at San Diego Comic-Con, we got the chance to speak with series creator Dan Fogelman (This is Us) and star/executive producer Sterling K. Brown (“Xavier Collins”) about the series and get some hints about the upcoming season. Since the two were paired for all of the interviews, everyone else in the room was pretty much watching and laughing along as they spoke with each of the folks on the press line, followed by the two roundtables. There were some really fun stories, such as Brown regifting a bottle of wine he was given at an awards show to Fogelman, not realizing the bottle had been engraved with his name.
We were the last table to talk to them, so it was nice and quiet in the room. They couldn’t really give any specific details about the second season. There will be some big changes as Xavier leaves the safety of the bunker to look for his wife. And the first season’s murder mystery has already been solved. Even though things will be different, it will still feel like the same series, while following this general theme of the haves and the have nots.
We were asked to hold the interview until closer to the release, but with the new season less than a month away, now seems like a good time to share it!
