AGATHA CHRISTIE: WHY DIDN’T THEY ASK EVANS?, directed by Hugh Laurie, is coming to DVD
The limited series starring Will Poulter and Lucy Boynton will be available on DVD November 4th
Sept 10, 2025 – New York, NY – Today, Alliance Home Entertainment announced the November 4th DVD release date of Agatha Christie: Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? The three part mini-series, starring Will Poulter and Lucy Boynton and directed by Hugh Laurie, is being released under the exclusive distribution partnership with the production company FIFTH SEASON.
The Britbox original premiered in 2022 and was adapted from Agatha Christie’s detective novel of the same name. One of the best-selling authors of all time, Agatha Christie’s book sales are surpassed only by the Bible and the works of William Shakespeare. In Why Didn’t They Ask Evans?, a stranger’s death on a Welsh cliff spurs Bobby Jones (Poulter) and Lady Frankie Derwent (Boynton) to investigate.
With little experience but plenty of spirit, they race to uncover the meaning behind the man’s final words: “Why didn’t they ask Evans?” Check out the trailer HERE.
Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? was adapted for the screen and directed by Hugh Laurie (House), and stars Will Poulter (Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 3) and Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody, Barbie). Jim Broadbent (Moulin Rouge!, The Iron Lady) and Emma Thompson (Harry Potter, Sense and Sensibility) also star, as well as Laurie.
Don’t miss this “classy and luscious” take on Christie that The Times UK called “Pure, dreamy escapism.” Why Didn’t They Ask Evans? is available for pre-order HERE.
