Interview with BILLY THE KID Star Tom Blyth & Showrunner Donald De Line

On Sunday June 2, Billy the Kid returns to MGM+ to kick off Part 2 of its second season. In the first half of the season, John Tunstall was murdered by Jesse Evans’ (Daniel Webber) gang, leaving Billy (Tom Blyth) distraught and swearing to get his revenge, killing everyone involved. Tunstall had given Billy a job and a more upstanding and legitimate way of life, but now that was gone. Billy was once again an outlaw, with he and and his Regulators declaring “We’re the law in Lincoln now”. Billy’s focus on revenge also alienated his love, Dulcinea (Nuria Vega), who wanted nothing to do with him now. And killing Sheriff Brady and several of his men in order to stop him from doing Murphy’s dirty work—i.e. delivering a warrant to have Alexander McSween arrested and hanged before he could appear before a jury to clear his name of false embezzlement and accounting charges—put Billy and his crew on the run again. As the miseason came to a close, a new replacement Sherriff arrived in town… Billy’s old friend Pat Garrett (Alex Roe), but now seems to be focused on upholding the law, and may just take care of Lincoln’s Billy the Kid problem once and for all…

The second half of the second season opens 4 months later. All season we’ve been building to the Lincoln County War. These exciting events finally kick off in tonight’s midseason premiere.

At this year’s ATX Television Festival, we got the chance to sit down with star Tom Blyth and showrunner Donald De Line to discuss the series and what viewers can expect in the second half of the season.

Tune in to the Season 2, Part 2 premiere this Sunday on MGM+!
