BIG BROTHER: THE GAME WILL OPEN APPLICATIONS FOR NEW TOURNAMENT ON DECEMBER 16
PLAYERS WILL COMPETE FOR REAL PRIZE MONEY

The Massively Multiplayer Online Reality TV Game Based on the Hit Show, Big Brother, From Tilting Point, 9th Impact and Banijay Returns for Second Tournament, BBTG II

NEW YORK — DEC 6, 2021 — Tilting Point, a leading free-to-play games publisher, developer 9th Impact and international content producer and distributor Banijay, are launching the second tournament, BBTG II, of the massively multiplayer reality TV game Big Brother: The Game on December 16 on the Apple App Store , Google Play, and PC. Like in BBTG I, players will compete for a grand prize to win real money.

The original tournament for Big Brother: The Game (BBTG I) launched on October 15, 2020 and ran for 288 days. Amy Elizabeth, a special needs teacher from Middleton, Delaware won BBTG I against 33,724 rival contestants and took home a $33,000 Grand Prize.

Inspired by the hit TV phenomenon, Big Brother: The Game puts players inside a house where they interact with other real-life housemates and must make strategic choices in order to remain in the house and ultimately become victorious to win a real-world cash prize.

“Our approach to designing this game was to think of a person’s mobile device or PC as their portal into a massive online Big Brother reality competition,” said Head of Development at 9th Impact, Dr. Finn Krewer. “The player will face competitions, chores, nominations, evictions and have to navigate all the same complex social relationships and intrigue that make the TV show so compelling.”

The game tests players’ social, psychological and interpersonal skills. The player must avoid getting nominated, or else survive the daily eviction vote in order to stay in their house. The players in a house are eliminated by public vote and a jury of the former housemates. The final player remaining in a house progresses to the next house tier. There are seven different house tiers that must be completed in order to claim the grand prize.

The game is free to download and has two modes – player and spectator. Spectators can watch any house live, follow their favorite players and participate in public votes. Players can buy tokens to enter a house or take the free audition route and pitch to sponsors who spend their tokens to decide who should be admitted to the competition.

The game was first announced by Big Brother owners, Banijay in 2020. It was developed by independent game development studio 9th Impact and is marketed to a worldwide audience by free-to-play games publisher Tilting Point. Banijay holds all rights for Big Brother.

Big Brother first aired in the Netherlands over 20 years ago. Since then, over 500 series have aired across 69 markets, producing over 28k episodes. 7,000+ housemates from around the globe have spent over 35,000 days in the house, with over 5,000 live evictions. The format continues to deliver hit primetime ratings in long-running markets such as the US, Canada, Brazil, Italy, Spain, and Israel, while continuing to evolve, with high-profile comebacks in Australia and Benelux.
