Last week, The CW kicked off the new sci-fi series Pandora. At San Diego Comic-Con this past weekend, we got a chance to talk with showrunner/creator Mark A. Altman, director Steve Hughes, and stars Priscilla Quintana (“Jax”), Oliver Dench (“Xander”), Johann Urb (“Captain Jaworski”), John Harlan Kim (“Greg”) & Tehmina Sunny (“Regan”). The cast has such great chemistry off screen, and this definitely translates into the show—these interviews were a lot of fun.
Set in the year 2199, the 13-episode, one-hour series stars as Jax, a resourceful young woman who finds a new life at Earth’s Space Training Academy after her parents are killed in a mysterious attack on a distant Earth colony. Jax (Priscilla Quintana, Traffik) and her friends at the Earth’s Space Training Academy learn to defend the Galaxy from threats, both alien and human. When secrets about the nature of Jax’s own identity begin to surface she must uncover the truth, and discover whether she will be humanity’s savior or the instrument of its destruction. Pandora also stars Oliver Dench (Ride), Raechelle Banno (Home and Away), Banita Sandhu (October), John Harlan Kim (The Librarians), Ben Cross (Star Trek, Chariots of Fire), Martin Bobb-Semple (Free Rein), Noah Huntley (28 Days Later) Tommie Earl Jenkins (Papi Chulo), and Vikash Bhai (McMafia).
