There’s no “If We Controlled Your Remote” column at TVisMyPacificer.com today, but I still wanted to give a recommendation from tonight’s primetime lineup:

Silicon Valley is off to a great start this season! Last week, the guys at Pied Piper found themselves in trouble after the Hooli announced their lawsuit. Their investor dropped out, and they attempted to contact the other VCs who had originally made them offers, but Erlich’s rude behavior at the previous meetings came back to haunt them. One company offered to meet with them about providing funding, but it turned out they were just trying to data mine for Pied Piper’s intellectual property. Meanwhile Dinesh tried and failed to get his cousin to fold his Kickstarter campaign for his new “Bro” app so he could get the $5K he invested back. At the end of the episode, Hooli CEO Gavin Belson met with Richard at a restaurant and offered to acquire Pied Piper, but Richard never got a chance to respond to Gavin’s offer because a mariachi band interrupted them with loud music.

Will Richard take the offer? I’m guessing he will never give in to Hooli. But Pied Piper is in dire financial trouble–will they find a new VC to cover their business capitol and legal fees so they can beat Hooli to the market with their own compression product? And did they accidentally reveal too much information about their algorithms to that other company, opening themselves up to another competitor?

I am so happy to have this show back on my TV–along with the rest of HBO’s stellar Sunday night lineup. I really enjoy the characters and world Silicon Valley has set up as it’s one I can relate to. Plus, this show is not only a lot of fun, but it is also grounded in a realistic storyline that I’m really interested to see play out.

In tonight’s episode, “Bad Money”, Richard mulls a proposal by Gavin, but also considers a pitch from Russ Hanneman about backing Pied Piper. Meanwhile, Monica learns surprising news about Richard’s deal with Hooli; and Gilfoyle and Dinesh go to extremes to get what they want.

Tonight I’ll also be watching/recording Madam Secretary, The Good Wife, Once Upon a Time, American Odyssey, Bob’s Burgers, The Simpsons, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Family Guy, The Last Man on Earth, Mad Men, Game of Thrones, Veep, Nurse Jackie, Happyish and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver.
