HGTV and DIY Network To Premiere Eight New Shows This Fall

HGTV AND DIY NETWORK TO PREMIERE EIGHT NEW SHOWS THIS FALL


 

NEW YORK [For Immediate Release—September 2, 2014] For fans who want a range of home-related television programming that they won’t find anywhere else this fall, especially if they like to peek inside the personal spaces of celebrities, HGTV and DIY Network will premiere six new series and two one-hour specials. Taking home improvement where it has never gone before, DIY Network will highlight the unique highs and lows of one celebrity icon’s home renovation in The William Shatner Project premiering on Thursday, October 23, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. And, coming in November, talented and charismatic twins Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott will showcase their newly renovated family residence in The Property Brothers at Home.

 

Other upcoming HGTV series will feature home buyers who want to find their own ideal—and affordable—oasis. Lakefront Bargain Hunt, premiering Sunday, September 14, at 8 p.m. ET/PT, will showcase home seekers as they find the waterfront property of their dreams, while Half-Price Paradise premiering in November, will feature city dwellers looking for a new place that offers quieter living for a fraction of the price. HGTV also will air two extraordinary specials during the season, A Hero’s Welcome where one lucky military service man or woman receives a spectacular home transformation; and White House Christmas, which  returns in 2015 with host and designer Genevieve Gorder as she gives viewers an exclusive holiday tour of the nation’s first home.

 

Back at DIY Network, Albert, Robert and Leon,  fan favorites from Vanilla Ice Goes Amish, get their own show in Amish RENOgades, premiering on Saturday, November 22, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The new series will feature the Amish craftsmen as they travel outside of their community, learn to navigate the modern world and work on home improvement projects.

Lakefront Bargain Hunt (HGTV)
Premieres: Sunday, September 14, at 8 and 8:30 p.m. ET/PT
Dreams of living lakeside can come true, even on the tightest budget. In Lakefront Bargain Hunt, home seekers learn how to find the lakefront property of their dreams without breaking the bank.

 

American Rehab: Detroit (HGTV)
Premieres: Thursday, October 16, at 11 and 11:30 p.m. ET/PT
Christopher Lee grew up hearing about his great-grandfather’s once-stately Detroit residence lost in the Great Depression, and 87 years later, he bought it. Armed with a family photo from 1927, Chris, his wife Amy, and their baby daughter Ruby, are living with collapsed ceilings, leaking rooms and holes in the floor as they work to bring the house back to its “Roaring 20s” glory.

 

The Shatner Project (DIY Network)
Premieres: Thursday, October 23, at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Television icon William Shatner is taking on a new role as project manager of his own home remodel in The Shatner Project. The six-episode series follows Mr. Shatner and his wife Liz as they renovate their outdated 1970s California home.  From demolition to design, Shatner boldly goes into the new adventure of home remodeling that includes a new kitchen, living room and dining room, as well as his favorite hangout spot, the media room.

 

A Hero’s Welcome (HGTV)
Premieres: Tuesday, November 11, at 11 p.m. ET/PT
In A Hero’s Welcome, one lucky military service man or woman discovers that Food Network’s Robert Irvine, movie star Gary Sinise and HGTV designer Genevieve Gorder have been working around the clock to give them a home transformation and a fabulous block party with delicious food, friends and decor.

 

Amish RENOgades (DIY Network)
Premieres: Saturday, November 22, at 10 p.m. ET/PT
Master craftsmen Albert, Robert and Leon from DIY Network’s Vanilla Ice Goes Amish are fish out of water when they travel across the country to work on home improvement projects outside of their Amish community. From Boston to the bright lights of Las Vegas and the beaches of Southern California, it’s a brave new world when they tackle modern tasks like managing social media and driving a car.

 

The Property Brothers at Home (HGTV)
Premieres: Wednesday, November 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT
The Property Brothers at Home is an entertaining new series featuring HGTV’s popular twins Jonathan Scott and Drew Scott as they join forces to complete a massive renovation of the Scott family home in Las Vegas, just in time for a family reunion.

 

Half-Price Paradise (HGTV)
Premieres: November TBD
People tired of their overstressed, over-priced lives search for a new home in a location that offers a better quality of life at a fraction of the cost. Families go house hunting in desirable locations in the U.S. or abroad and experience everything that area has to offer, from work and leisure opportunities to a typical night on the town. In the end, the home seekers compare hard costs and reveal whether or not they’ve truly found a Half-Price Paradise.

 

White House Christmas 2014 (HGTV)
Premieres: December TBD
Designer Genevieve Gorder takes us behind the scenes for an exclusive tour of the nation’s first home during the Christmas holidays. From the months of preparation, to the First Lady’s meaningful theme, the official Christmas tree in the Blue Room to the iconic Gingerbread White House, we’ll get the scoop from the staff and volunteers as they prepare every room of the White House for the holiday season.
