San Diego Comic-Con 2014 – Day 1

Jul 26, 2014 Posted by in Features | 1 comment

Thursday of Comic-Con was pretty much back-to-back press rooms for me in the afternoon. I will be creating separate posts with videos from each press rooms after SDCC is over (the wifi from the hotel is just too slow), but I have included pictures below to give you a teaser of what’s to come.

I started the day off early just walking around downtown and checking out some of the sights while waiting for my first press room of the day. Things were still being set up in the Petco Park off site area:

I also checked out the NBC installations downtown (they were not open yet).

And the Homer Dome and Gotham Zip Line were also still being set up.

My first press room of the year was for the new TNT series Legends.

After this I killed a couple hours walking around some more—I saw an ominous gathering of black-hooded folks (it seemed to be some sort of promotion for Witches of East End) and a large creature downtown by the Constantine installation. I walked by the Petco offsite again and picked up a free slice of pizza from the TMNT Pizza Thrower, and got a picture with the headless horseman.

Then I returned to the Hilton Bayfront for some more press rooms.

First was the new TNT series The Last Ship:

After this I swung by the Batman ’66 press conference, and listened to some of the fun stories Burt Ward was telling about how dangerous the set was for him.

However, I had to leave early to get to Syfy’s Sharknado 2: The Second One press room:

And I finished up the day with NBC’s Hannibal:
