It’s that time of year again, and the massive Fall TV season is almost upon us. So now we start seeing all of the TV box sets for last season’s shows. This week, that includes the ability to catch up on the returning shows with releases such as Gossip Girl Season 4, NCIS Season 8 or NCIS: Los Angeles Season 2. Or if you missed them, and don’t already have enough to watch this Fall, check out the final (and in some cases, only) season of last year’s canceled shows The Event, Off the Map, or Brothers & Sisters Season 5.

My pick for this week is a show I haven’t seen, but I have heard really good things about. NBC will be airing a US remake of Prime Suspect this fall, but this week, Series 1 and Series 2 of the original 1991, Emmy Award winning UK crime drama are being re-released on DVD. Helen Miren stars as DCI Jane Tennison, the only female in an otherwise old boys club London Homicide squad. The series also features big name guest stars such as Tom Wilkinson and Ralph Fiennes. I really want to check this out before seeing the remake this Fall.
