If you don’t already own the individual season releases, Torchwood: The Complete Original UK Series is a must-own (although perhaps wait for the price to go down a bit). Torchwood is a great Doctor Who spin-off that doesn’t really require the viewer to have any knowledge of the Who-verse. The first two seasons primarily consist of story/monster of the week episodes (with an ongoing background story) while season 3 (“Children of Earth”) is a five-part miniseries following one story-line. This sci-fi series is filled with comedy, drama and lots of over-the-top action!
Also, if you missed the first half of the new Doctor Who season, or can’t wait for the full-season set to be released, Doctor Who: Series Six, Part One is highly recommended!

There are loads of DVD releases this week, but none of them are things I would rush out and buy. For nostalgia sake, I would perhaps check out Hey Dude – Season 1 or The Littles – The Complete Collection, just to see how well they hold up.
